So true, Jean, we simply won't hear the likes of them again because as fate, chance, happenstance, Moira, kismet, whatever, would have it,1957 was a fore-ordained "pivotal" year for all kinds of things in America and the singing duo known as The Everly Brothers were a large, large part of it. "Bye, Bye Love" was right at the start of it. A two minute country-rock-pop tune with Don & Phil & Chet being the creators of it. And, "they were own their way." Britain and everywhere loved that sound and they had a lifetime career in music show-biz. If you were on The Ed Sullivan Show, you hit the big time. Elvis, The Beatles. Something like stand-up comedians on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. Do your five-minute "bit" and if its good and Johnny calls you over, your appearances and salary just quadrupled. It's their harmony. Their Songs Our Daddy Taught Us, WB LPs, Greatest Country Hits, they both can sing separately and are good, but when they sing together, well........
